New owners Olivia and Katie took over Hopkins Ordinary Bed, Breakfast & Brewery in November 2024.
The couple met in Washington D.C. where they both enjoyed careers in marketing and communications. Both had growing aspirations of moving into hospitality, but the traditional bar and restaurant scene never enticed them. In 2022, they visited the Milkweed Inn, a culinary-centered B&B experience in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This gave them a vision for how to merge their loves of cooking, entertaining, and outdoor exploring all in one. The dream was there, but the reality was still many years in the future… or so they thought.
That all changed when Olivia’s sister sent a text message to the family group chat with a Zillow listing for Hopkins Ordinary – as a joke, of course. Katie and Olivia chuckled but thought, we could never. But the opportunity was too special to ignore – it was a beautiful property in the heart of Sperryville, a charming town they had visited many times on their trips to Shenandoah for hiking, pizza, and brewery hopping. After weeks of sitting on it, curiosity got the best of them and the rest is history.
Katie and Olivia are looking forward to welcoming you into the bed & breakfast, the brewery, or both!
